Legacy

Build the record future caretakers will need. While the work is still being made.

Build the record while you still can.

Most artists do not plan their legacy. Not because they do not care about what happens to their work, but because there is no natural moment to begin, no clear structure to follow, and no system built to hold what is accumulated.

StudioNXT is that system. And legacy planning is not a separate task you add to the end of a career. It is what the archive becomes, over time, if you build it with intention from the beginning.

Legacy contact.

Assign a legacy contact inside your profile. A name, a relationship, an email address, and a phone number. The person or organisation that should have access to your archive and guidance on how to manage it when you are no longer there to do so.

This is the first and most important step in legacy planning. It does not require a lawyer or an estate plan. It requires a name and five minutes.

The archive as legacy.

A well-maintained archive is itself a legacy document. Every work recorded with its full metadata, provenance, and location history. Every voice session holding the thinking behind the work. Every certificate and invoice creating a paper trail that future caretakers can follow.

The archive you build in StudioNXT is the record institutions, collectors, and families will use to understand, manage, and preserve your work after you. The better the record, the longer the work lasts.

Legacy Duration plans.

Legacy Duration is the long-form membership of StudioNXT. A commitment of five, ten, or fifteen years, made once, held for the full length of the term.

For artists who understand that a serious archive is a long-term undertaking, Legacy Duration removes the uncertainty of annual renewals and places the archive on a foundation that matches the scale of a lifetime's work.

Printed archive catalogue

A physical catalogue of your archive delivered to your door every year for the full length of your chosen term. A permanent, tangible record of the work as it stood at that moment in time.

The Mira Letter

A legacy document drawn from your full body of work. Written in your voice by Mira from the material in your archive. Sealed after a thirty-day review period. Printed and delivered annually. Nothing else like it exists.

Promise Fund protection

A protected portion of your Legacy Duration payment is held in the Promise Fund. If StudioNXT closes before your term ends, you receive a proportional return for the remaining years, within thirty days of the closure notice.

Closure package

If StudioNXT closes within your term, you receive a final printed catalogue, a complete collection of your archive returned to your hands, and a signed legacy certificate from the founder.

The Mira Letter.

A letter written from a life's work is a rare thing. Most artists never have one. The Mira Letter is a legacy document drawn from your archive, written in your voice, and intended to speak for the work and the practice when you no longer can.

It is not a biography, though it draws from your practice. It is not a catalogue essay, though it knows the work. It is a document that holds the whole, in a form that can be read by anyone who comes to your archive for the first time and needs to understand what they are looking at.

Written once. Reviewed by you over thirty days. Sealed. Printed and delivered each year to Legacy Duration members as a permanent part of the archive record.
