StudioNXT
The Story behind the studio
Built from the inside out.
Before there was a platform, there was a problem. Not an abstract one. A real one, watched every day from inside working artists' studios.
Talented, serious artists were losing real opportunities. Not because their work was not good enough. Because they could not find it fast enough. Galleries waiting. Collectors asking. Grant deadlines passing. And somewhere on an old hard drive, the work that would have answered all of it.
I also saw what happened when an artist was no longer there to speak for themselves. Families finding hard drives they could not open. Websites with expired passwords. Decades of creative output with no documentation, no story, no way in. A lifetime of work, disappearing quietly.
No tool existed that understood this from the inside. The few options available were built for institutions with large budgets, or required artists to juggle five disconnected platforms at once. Artists are not administrators. They should not have to be.
So we built StudioNXT. And then kept building, because the problem turned out to be larger, and more urgent, than we first understood.
What we hold.
Every capability was added because a real artist needed it. Not because a plan demanded it.
Living Archive. Every work ever made, gathered in one place. Dated, organised, and searchable. Yours forever, regardless of what happens to us.
Artwork Records. Each piece gets its own record. Medium, dimensions, condition, status, price, and the full history of where it has been and who has seen it.
Artist's Voice. Record a thought, write a note, attach a memory. The story behind the work, in your own words, held alongside the piece for as long as the archive lives.
Video and Documents. Process recordings, studio footage, exhibition documentation, supporting papers. The whole practice, not just the finished object.
The Wall. A flowing, public view of your work. Clean, unbranded, endlessly scrollable. Your practice as it grows, visible to anyone you choose to share it with.
Public Link. Your full archive, shareable with a single link. No account required. No platform standing between you and the person looking.
Mira, Your Studio Companion. A thinking partner that has absorbed your entire body of work and can speak about your practice the way you would. Biography, artist statements, catalogue descriptions, all in your voice.
Templates and Legal Documents. Invoices, loan agreements, authentification certificates, consignment records. The paperwork that protects your practice, built for artists rather than accountants.
Valuation Tracking. A living picture of what your work is worth. Per piece, over time, across your whole practice. Not a one-time number but a record that grows with you.
Edition Ledger. Every print, every owner, every sale. The complete record of your editions, transparent, verifiable, and permanently yours.
Task List and Works in Progress. What is being made, what is promised, what is waiting. The daily rhythm of a working studio, held in the same place as the archive.
The Mira Letter. A legacy document drawn from your life's work. Written once, sealed after a thirty-day review, and printed each year for Legacy members. Nothing else like it exists.
Three things we will never compromise on.
The Permanence Promise. Your archive does not disappear if you step away, if we close, or if the world changes around us. Most platforms hold your work hostage. StudioNXT holds it in trust.
The Closure Protocol. If StudioNXT ever closes, every artist receives ninety days notice and a complete collection of their archive, returned to their hands in full, before anything stops.
Your Work Stays Yours. We are the keeper, not the owner. We will never sell, share, or use your archive for any purpose beyond serving you. Not now, not under new ownership, not ever.
The Promise Fund.
Great art has always needed people who believed in it before the world did. Not collectors. Not critics. Believers. The kind of person who looked at a body of work and said, quietly and without condition, this matters. This should last.
The Promise Fund is our version of that belief.
A portion of every Legacy Duration payment is set apart into a fund held entirely outside the life of the business. It exists for one purpose only. To stand behind every commitment StudioNXT makes to the artists who place their work in our keeping.
If StudioNXT closes before your chosen term ends, the Fund returns the remaining years to you. Proportionally, transparently, within thirty days. Not as an apology. As the honouring of an agreement made in good faith by both sides.
This is written into the legal foundation of artNXT as a company. Any future steward inherits the Fund and every obligation that comes with it.
Legacy Duration members receive one final printed catalogue at the point of closure, a complete collection of everything held for them, and a signed letter from the founder.
We are putting something real behind that belief. Not because we are required to, but because it is the only way we know how to say it and mean it.
